The Adventures of Puss in Boots Swashbuckles onto Screens

This month, The Adventures of Puss in Boots arrives on Netflix January 16th, starring one of the most celebrated characters for kids. The world’s greatest fighter, lover and milk connoisseur springs into action with comical tales that take him to exotic locations, filled with unforgettable characters. As Puss embarks on adventures that are the stuff of legend, nothing can stand in the way of this swashbuckling hero … except a hairball! Puss in Boots is a great example of an enduring and entertaining children’s tale based on a book.

This month Netflix has compiled a list of titles that showcase this same tradition of re-imagining and continuing great stories from literature. On Guard!

Literature Inspired Netflix Titles
Eight titles to share with your kids on Netflix:

Big Kids

1. How to Train Your Dragon
2. Peter Pan
3. Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat
4. The Baby-Sitters Club

Little Kids

2. The Red Shoes
3. Harold and the Purple Crayon
4. Stuart Little: The Animated Series

My girls and I actually watched The Very Hungry Caterpillar today on Netflix for the first time and it is so beautifully done.  The girls thought it was pretty awesome too and kept pretty quiet for once.  We haven’t caught the other little kid titles yet but they are on my list for them to watch.  They have, however, seen The Cat in the Hat – what a fun movie!

Can I tell you that I didn’t even know until writing this post about the Baby Sitters Club being on Netflix.  Are you kidding guys???? Forget big kids…  I’m heading off to my couch to watch some of that myself!

Let’s just all stop for a minute and step back to the 1990s and relive some of that before heading off to binge watch on Netflix.
