After I had my first daughter I though I would never feel human again. All those sleepless nights, endless feeding, non-stop crying and constant diaper changes honestly felt like it had to be the hardest part of parenting.
Then I had my youngest daughter and I felt like having two kids under two was going to be the hardest thing.
Now I have two daughters capable of talking and thinking and asking endless questions and making observations about the world around them. This is the hardest thing (right now.) Explaining the world to your child can be so tricky, even when they are only at the preschool stage.
I can only assume that at some point this stage will also feel a whole lot easier looking back and I will end up laughing at myself while simultaneously pulling out my hair.
In the here and now though? I am looking for easy.
Sometimes it is nice to let your kid’s favourite shows address some of those tricky questions. Thanks to Netflix, and the large variety of family-friendly shows they already love, we can explore age-appropriate and real-life issues in a way that they can understand. Plus I don’t need to stress out trying to explain something to them while they try to escape.
No matter what the situation situation, chances are there’s a show and episode that will engage kids on a topic just by watching it together.
