Nashville Hot chicken originates from, and I bet you guessed it, Nashville, Tennessee. This chicken is coated with a special blend of spices, deep-fried until crispy and golden, tossed in hot sauce and served up over white bread and garnished with pickles.
This version of Nashville Hot Chicken skips the deep fryer for an air fryer but still has all the great crispiness and flavour of the traditional method.

- Let all your ingredients come to room temperature – including the chicken! This will helps your chicken fry evenly.
- Do NOT skip the brining process!
- Double dredge! Follow the instructions properly to get the best, crispy chicken!
How to Store Leftover Nashville Hot Chicken
Hot chicken will store well in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Let the chicken cool to room temperature before storing. Then reheat just a few minutes in an air fryer.

How to Make Air Fryer Nashville Hot Chicken
Yields: 6-7 Servings | Prep Time: 7 mins | Cook Time: 14 mins
Ingredients:
For the Marinade
2 lbs boneless skinless chicken tenders
1 cup buttermilk
½ cup dill pickle juice
3 Tbsp Hot Sauce
For the Crispy Coating
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup panko
½ cup cornstarch
2 tsp salt
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
2 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 Tbsp hot sauce
For the Sauce
2 Tbsp. Hot sauce
2 Tbsp. Brown sugar
Directions:
Place the chicken in a large storage bag. Add the ingredients for the marinade and cover and chill for 4 hours.
Cover a baking sheet with paper towels.
Remove the chicken from the marinade and place on the baking sheet, set to the side.
In a small bowl add the flour, panko, cornstarch, salt, paprika, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder.
Whisk to combine.
In a separate small bowl add the eggs, buttermilk and hot sauce.
Whisk to combine.
Dredge the chicken tenders in the four mixtures, then the buttermilk mixture, then back into the flour mixture.
Place the chicken back on the baking pan.
Repeat until all of the tenders are coated.
Set to the side for 20 minutes.
Lightly spray the grill with Avocado oil.
Place the chicken in the Ninja set to 370 degrees for 8 -14 minutes.
In a small bowl add hot sauce and brown sugar whisk to combine.
Lightly coat your chicken tenders with the hot sauce.
Serve and enjoy
