This simple recipe makes for a quick and simple dessert, or a wonderful addition to brunch!

Kids love these too–they’re perfect for after school snacks, not just to serve as a perfect summer dessert!

Peach season is coming to an end but there are still loads of peaches at the local farmer’s market or grocery store that are perfect for baking with. Put this warm peach dessert on the menu while you can. It’s the perfect way to use up any extra peaches.

How to Serve Baked Peaches

You can serve the baked peaches as they are, or serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or some whipping cream, and for an extra special treat add a drizzle of caramel sauce.

A delicious way to make this a little fancier is to serve them topped with ricotta or mascarpone and a drizzle of homemade caramel sauce.

They taste like a homemade peach pie with a little cinnamon and without the crust. It’s a fuss free and delicious dessert.

How to Store Baked Peaches

Store the roasted peaches in an airtight container in the refrigerator. You can also place the peach halves in plastic freezer bags once cooled to room temperature and keep them in the freezer for up to three months.

Gently reheat in the oven, covered with foil when ready to serve again.

About the Ingredients for Baked Peaches

The ingredients for this recipe is pretty simple but lets take a moment to clarify the exact specifics:

Peaches – Use only fresh, ripe peaches. Freestone varieties are easier to work with.

Sugar – We use just enough of both brown sugar and regular granulated sugar to help highlight the natural sweetness of the peaches. You can swap real maple syrup for the brown sugar if desired. For a more healthy dessert use a sugar substitute like coconut sugar.

Butter – Just plain salted butter is best here.

Cinnamon – Ground cinnamon. A sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top of the peaches is a wonderful way to warm this dish up.

Be sure to serve with a scoop of ice cream while they are still warm! It’s a perfect summer treat.
