These Cookies and Cream Baked Donuts are delicious with a cup of coffee. Full of flavour but super easy to make, this is a must try breakfast or dessert recipe.
Baked Cookies and Cream Donuts
Ingredients
For the donuts:
1 Cup all- purpose flour
½ Cup brown sugar
½ Tsp salt
¼ Cup cocoa powder
1 Tsp baking powder
½ Tsp vanilla extract
1 Large egg
1½ Tbsps butter, melted
¼ Cup milk
¼ Cup cream
For the topping:
1 Tbsp soft butter
¼ Cup milk
¼ Cup cream
½ Cup confectioner’s sugar
½ Cup melted milk chocolate
1 Cup crushed chocolate cookies with cream filling
Directions
For the donuts
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Grease a donut pan with butter or light spray of choice.
Whisk all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
In a separate bowl whisk together all the wet ingredients and slowly pour them into the dry ones. Mix until well combined.
Use a large spoon and transfer mixture into a donut pan.
Bake for 11 minutes.
Let donuts cool for a few minutes then transfer them to another flat dish of choice.
For the frosting combine the butter, milk, and cream and mix with a hand blender on medium speed until smooth.
Reduce speed and add in the confectioners’ sugar then the melted chocolate.
Once all is combined beat on high speed for 1 minute.
Spread the frosting on top of the donuts with a spoon.
Garnish with crushed cookies on top.
Serve and enjoy.
Tips
Incorporate some crushed cookies into the batter to amp up the crunchiness.
