Storing the Cotton Candy Cupcakes

Cotton candy melts and if left too long the cute little garnishes on the cupcakes will melt after a short while. Do not top the cupcakes until just before serving.

If you have any leftovers, remove the cotton candy before storing the cupcakes in an air tight container.

How to Add More Cotton Candy Flavour

If you really want bold cotton candy flavour try whipping in either real cotton candy of cotton candy flavouring into your vanilla frosting.

If you go that route I would suggest making homemade vanilla buttercream frosting rather than using the store bought frosting.

Can I use my Favourite Vanilla Cupcake Recipe?

I used cake mix because it is easy and strawberry cake mix has really great flavour that works well in this cupcake. If you want to use a homemade cake recipe instead of cake mix, feel free.

If you go that route you may want to add a little cotton candy flavouring and pink food dye.
