Grilled Pepperoni Pizza Sandwich

Yields: 4 Servings | Prep time: 10 mins | Cook time: 7 mins

Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons spaghetti sauce
  • 1 box garlic Texas toast (8 slices)
  • 6 ounces pepperoni slices
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese slices
Preparing the sandwiches layer by layer.

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Place the garlic Texas toast on a baking sheet. Bake for 7 minutes, or until the edges are lightly toasted.
  3. Spread 1 tablespoon of spaghetti sauce over 4 slices of toast. (Image 1)
  4. Top each with 6 slices of pepperoni (Image 2), followed by 1 slice of mozzarella cheese. (Image 3)
  5. Add another layer of pepperoni and another slice of cheese.
  6. Spread 1 tablespoon of sauce on each of the remaining toast slices and place them on top to form sandwiches.
  7. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly drizzle with olive oil.
  8. Cook each sandwich until the cheese is melted and the filling is heated through, flipping once if needed.
