About the Ingredients for Honey Mustard Salmon
Salmon – The star of the dish, salmon is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids and provides high-quality protein. Opt for fresh, sustainably sourced salmon fillets with vibrant colour and firm texture.
Honey – Honey adds a subtle sweetness that balances the zest of the mustard. Use pure, natural honey for its superior flavour and health benefits over processed alternatives.
Oil – A neutral oil, such as olive oil, is ideal for cooking the salmon, as it has a higher smoke point and allows the natural flavours of the other ingredients to shine through.
Thyme – Thyme lends an earthy and slightly floral note to the dish.
Mustard – Mustard, the counterpoint to honey’s sweetness, imparts tanginess and depth. Dijon mustard is recommended for its robust flavour, while grainy mustard gives a nice texture,
Garlic – Garlic offers a pungent kick that complements the sweetness and acidity of the honey and mustard. Freshly minced garlic is recommended for its aromatic potency.
