Tips for Making the BEST Margaritas
- Chill your glasses ahead of time to help ensure the cocktail remains cool to the very last sip.
- Choose premium liquors for the best results. You don’t need to reach for the top shelf but at least avoid scraping the bottom of the barrel.
- To make sure your cocktail is properly chilled, consider using larger ice cubes. They melt slower and won’t water down your drink as quickly.
- For a stronger blueberry flavour your can muddle blueberries in a cocktail shaker. Make sure you strain the cocktail for a more smooth mouthfeel.
- Garnish with lime wheels, blueberries or melon pieces.
- Enjoy your margarita and don’t forget to drink responsibly. Cheers!
How to Make a Berry Melon Margarita Mocktail
If you are serving someone who prefers an alcohol-free drink, this berry melon mocktail is the perfect choice.
To make it a mocktail, simply replace the tequila and grand marnier with more cantaloupe or watermelon juice.
This is a great way to adjust the recipe for kids to enjoy too!
About the Ingredients for Melon Margarita
Blueberry Margarita Mix – If you can’t get your hands on any of this you can replace with plain margarita mix that has been muddled with fresh or frozen blueberries to taste, and strained.
Tequila – I used Jose Cuervo “Gold” tequila but any blanco or resposado tequilas will work well in a Margarita.
Grand Marnier – Grand Marnier is a good choice here but you could opt for any orange flavoured liqueur.
Honeydew Melon syrup – If you can’t find this, you can use Torani cantaloupe syrup instead.
Margarita mix – Use your favourite Margarita mix.
