Tips for Making the BEST Mojitos

  • Chill your glasses ahead of time to help ensure the cocktail remains cool to the very last sip.
  • Choose premium liquors for the best results. You don’t need to reach for the top shelf but at least avoid scraping the bottom of the barrel.
  • Fresh squeezed juice goes a long way with cocktails.
  • To make sure your cocktail is properly chilled, consider using larger ice cubes. They melt slower and won’t water down your drink as quickly.
  • Blending everything together is a good shortcut, for a more classic appearance though you can muddle the strawberries, mint, lime juice, and simple syrup together. Muddling is a technique used to gently mash herbs or fruit to release their juices. You can do this with the bottom of a wooden spoon or with a proper muddler.
  • You can also pour your cocktail into a cocktail shaker with ice before dividing into glasses and topping with soda.
  • If you prefer, you can also strain the cocktail for a more smooth mouthfeel.
