Tips for the Best Box Mix Cupcakes
Box mixes are easy to use, but you should be aware of some cupcake baking basics to make the most out of them!
- Make sure NOT to over-mix the batter if you want light, fluffy cupcakes.
- Use ingredients that are at room temperature.
- Do NOT open the oven door while baking.
- Always fill your cupcake liners about 2/3 full.
- Allow your cupcakes to completely cool before frosting.
About the Ingredients for Unicorn Funfetti Cupcakes
Cake Mix – French vanilla cake mix is best, you can use yellow or white cake mix too. Strawberry cake mix or lemon cake mix are great options too.
Eggs – Make sure your eggs are room temperature when you start.
Butter – Unsalted butter is best when baking, but you can use salted butter too.
Milk – Whole milk will give you the best flavour but you can use any milk you already have on hand. Make sure it is room temperature when you start.
Sprinkles – I used rainbow jimmy sprinkles, but you can use any type of sprinkles you prefer. Pastel jimmies would be really cute.
